McAlpine STW3-R is a 40mm / 1½” shower trap with a 19mm water seal and 70mm chrome plated plastic flange. It is designed for shower tray waste installations where a compact trap is required with a neat chrome visible finish.
McAlpine STW3-R Trade Overview
The McAlpine STW3-R shower trap is suitable for shower trays with a 50mm waste hole. It is a practical choice for plumbers, bathroom fitters and maintenance teams carrying out shower tray installations, replacements and shower waste repairs.
This trap has a 19mm water seal, making it useful where space below the shower tray is limited. The 70mm chrome plated plastic flange provides a tidy visible finish on the shower tray, while the white polypropylene body sits below the tray and connects into the waste pipework.
The STW3-R has a 1½” BSP thread and 1½” universal / Multifit outlet. The waste grid and dip tube are removable from above, helping with cleaning and maintenance without needing to remove the full trap body.

Installation Notes
Before fitting, check that the shower tray has a 50mm waste hole and that there is enough space below the tray for the trap body and outlet connection. Make sure the sealing washer is seated correctly and that the chrome flange is tightened securely.
Connect the outlet to suitable 40mm / 1½” waste pipework. After installation, run water through the shower tray and check the flange, trap body and outlet connection for leaks.
