McAlpine SG10 is a 50mm / 2″ running tubular swivel P trap with a 75mm water seal and Multifit compression outlet. It is designed for larger waste pipework installations where a running trap layout is required.
McAlpine SG10 Trade Overview
The McAlpine SG10 is a practical 2″ running P trap for trade plumbing, maintenance and commercial waste pipework. It is suitable for larger waste systems where a 50mm / 2″ trap is required instead of a standard 32mm or 40mm trap.
The running trap design has horizontal connections, making it useful where the waste route needs to continue through the trap rather than drop vertically into a standard P trap. This can help on commercial sinks, utility waste systems, larger appliance waste pipework and replacement jobs where the existing pipe route is already fixed.
The 75mm water seal helps prevent foul odours from coming back through the waste system. The Multifit compression outlet is suitable for common waste pipe materials including plastic, copper and lead pipe.

SG10 vs SE10
The McAlpine SG10 and SE10 are both 50mm / 2″ tubular traps with a 75mm water seal. The main difference is the layout. The SE10 is a standard swivel P trap with a vertical inlet, while the SG10 is a running P trap with horizontal connections.
Use the SG10 where the waste pipework needs to run through the trap horizontally. Use the SE10 where the waste drops down into the trap from above.
Installation Notes
Before fitting, check that the waste outlet and waste pipework are suitable for a 50mm / 2″ running trap. Cut the waste pipe cleanly and make sure the pipe is fully seated inside the Multifit compression connection before tightening.
After installation, run water through the waste system and check all compression joints for leaks. Make sure the trap remains accessible for future cleaning and maintenance.
