Description
The 160mm drainage pipe 6m single socket is a strong underground drainage pipe for larger foul water and surface water systems. It is suitable for trade drainage work, groundwork projects, commercial drainage layouts and larger domestic installations where 160mm pipework is required.
This Kayflow 160mm single socket pipe comes in a 6 metre length. The longer length helps reduce the number of joints across longer drainage runs. As a result, it can help speed up installation on suitable sites and create a cleaner pipe layout.
Please note: due to the 6 metre length, this product is only available by local delivery or store collection from TWS. It is not suitable for standard parcel delivery.
160mm Drainage Pipe for Underground Systems
The 160mm drainage pipe is used for underground foul water and surface water drainage where a larger capacity system is needed. It connects with compatible 160mm underground drainage fittings, including couplers, bends, junctions, access fittings and adaptors.
The single socket design gives one socketed end and one plain end. This makes it easy to connect into a compatible fitting or another pipe length. The plain end can also be cut on site when a shorter section is needed.

160mm Drainage Pipe for Long Pipe Runs
This 160mm drainage pipe is a practical choice when the drainage layout needs longer straight runs. The 6m length can reduce the number of couplers required. Therefore, it can help keep the installation simple on open sites, driveways, commercial yards and larger groundwork projects.
Because this pipe is 6 metres long, always plan storage, handling and delivery before ordering. Keep the pipe supported during storage. Also, avoid dragging it across sharp surfaces, as this may damage the pipe wall or socket area.
Before installation, check the pipe route, invert levels and required fall. Then prepare the trench with suitable bedding material. Correct bedding and backfill are important, as they support the pipe and help protect the drainage system after installation.
160mm Drainage Pipe Installation Use
The 160mm drainage pipe should be installed with compatible 160mm underground drainage fittings. Use suitable pipe lubricant on push-fit joints where required. Also, make sure every pipe end is clean before jointing.
If the pipe needs cutting, make a square cut and chamfer the cut end before fitting. This helps the pipe enter the seal correctly. It also reduces the risk of damaging the ring seal during installation.
For best results, follow the site specification and manufacturer guidance. You should also follow current UK drainage guidance for pipe bedding, trench depth, pipe falls, inspection access, testing and backfilling.
