Description

The 160mm drainage end cap is an underground drainage fitting used to cap off the end of a 160mm drainage pipe run. It is suitable for foul water and surface water drainage systems where a pipe end needs to be securely closed within the layout.

This Magnaplast KGK end cap is designed for use with compatible 160mm underground drainage pipework. It provides a neat and simple way to close a pipe end on larger domestic, commercial and groundwork drainage installations.

The end cap is useful during drainage alterations, pipe terminations, system changes and repair work. It can also be used where a 160mm pipe run needs to be closed off as part of a planned underground drainage layout.

160mm Drainage End Cap for Underground Systems

The 160mm drainage end cap is used where a 160mm underground drainage pipe needs a closed end. This helps complete the pipe layout and prevents open pipe ends from remaining exposed within the system.

End caps are simple fittings, but they play an important role in keeping drainage systems properly finished. A correctly fitted cap helps close the pipe end and supports a cleaner installation.

End Cap for 160mm Drainage Pipe

This 160mm drainage end cap is suitable for closing off 160mm underground drainage pipework where the system design requires a capped end. It can be used on larger drainage runs, repair sections and pipework alterations.

Before fitting, check that the pipe end is clean, square and free from damage. If the pipe has been cut to length, make a clean square cut and chamfer the edge before fitting. This helps the fitting sit correctly and reduces the risk of damaging the seal during installation.

Use suitable pipe lubricant on ring seal joints where required by the system. This helps the end cap push into position smoothly and supports a better joint.

Underground Drainage Installation Use

The end cap should be installed as part of a properly planned underground drainage system. Before fitting, check the pipe route, connection points and final layout to make sure the capped end is in the correct position.

Correct bedding and backfill are important. The pipe and fitting should be supported evenly so the drainage run remains stable after installation. Poor support can place stress on pipe joints and may affect the long-term performance of the system.

This fitting is not a rodding point or access fitting. If future access is required at the end of the pipe run, use a suitable access fitting, inspection chamber or rodding point instead.

160mm Drainage End Cap for Site Work

The 160mm drainage end cap is a useful fitting for builders, groundworkers, landscapers and drainage installers working with larger underground drainage systems. It helps finish off pipework neatly and can be used during new installations or drainage changes.

Always use the cap with compatible 160mm underground drainage pipework. Where possible, keep fittings from the same system together to help maintain simple jointing and a consistent installation.

Drainage work should follow the site specification, current UK guidance and manufacturer instructions. This includes correct pipe falls, jointing, bedding, inspection access, testing and backfilling.
