How to Fit a Mitre Shears Spare Blade

Make sure the shears are closed, locked and safe to handle before replacing the blade. Remove the fixing screw or fastener from the old blade, then carefully lift the worn blade away from the tool.

Position the new spare blade correctly and refit the fixing securely. Check the blade sits flat and does not move before use.

Test the shears on a suitable offcut before starting the job. Always keep fingers clear of the cutting edge, and replace the blade when it becomes blunt, damaged or unsafe to use.
