Fortex Shadow Gap Butt Joint 182mm
Shadow Gap Butt Joint for covering the expansion joint between two Fortex 182mm exterior cladding boards. Its moulded profile creates a neat, colour-matched connection while maintaining the distinctive recessed lines of the Shadow Gap system.
Special-order product – we do not normally hold this range in stock. The usual lead time is approximately 1–2 weeks.
How the Shadow Gap Butt Joint Is Used
Use the fitting where the ends of two Fortex Shadow Gap boards meet. It covers the required gap between the boards and helps produce a consistent finish across the elevation.
The compact joint also allows board connections to be staggered. As a result, installers can avoid creating one continuous joining line across the wall.

Shadow Gap Butt Joint Compatibility
This fitting is designed specifically for the Fortex 182mm Shadow Gap profile. It should not be used with Double Shiplap or Feather Edge boards because those systems require their own matching joints.

Planning the Board Joints
First, measure the full elevation and plan the board layout. You will normally need one butt joint at each end-to-end board connection.
However, the final quantity depends on the wall dimensions, board cuts and chosen joint pattern. Planning the joints before installation helps reduce waste and creates a more balanced finish.
Delivery & Collection
Parcel delivery may be possible when butt joints are ordered separately. Products ordered with 5m cladding boards follow the local North East delivery or Hexham collection restrictions applied to the boards.

Choosing the Correct Colour
Select the colour that matches your Fortex Shadow Gap boards. Quantity 1 equals one individual butt joint.
Colours can appear differently on individual screens. Therefore, check a physical Freefoam colour sample when an exact match is important.
