Fortex Feather Edge Butt Joint 170mm
Feather Edge Butt Joint for covering the expansion joint between two Fortex 170mm Feather Edge or Weatherboard cladding boards. Its moulded shape and embossed finish create a neat, colour-matched connection between adjoining boards.
Special-order product – we do not normally hold this range in stock. The usual lead time is approximately 1–2 weeks.
Parcel delivery may be possible when butt joints are ordered separately. Products ordered with 5m cladding boards follow the local North East delivery or Hexham collection restrictions applied to the boards. Please contact us before ordering if parcel delivery is required.
How the Feather Edge Butt Joint Is Used
Use the fitting where the ends of two Fortex Weatherboard boards meet. It covers the required expansion gap while helping the finished wall retain a consistent embossed appearance.
The compact joint also allows connections to be staggered across the elevation. As a result, installers can avoid creating one continuous vertical trim line.

Feather Edge Butt Joint Compatibility
This fitting is designed for Fortex 170mm Feather Edge or Weatherboard cladding. It should not be used with Double Shiplap or Shadow Gap boards because those profiles require their own matching joints.

Planning Your Cladding Joints
First, measure the full width of the elevation and plan the board layout. You will normally need one butt joint at each end-to-end board connection.
However, the exact quantity will depend on the wall width, board cuts and chosen joint pattern. Staggering the joints between rows can create a more natural finished appearance.
Choosing the Correct Colour
Select the colour that matches your Fortex Feather Edge boards. Quantity 1 equals one individual butt joint.
Colours may appear differently on individual screens. Therefore, check a physical Freefoam colour sample when an exact match is important.
