Description
McAlpine FLEXCON6 40mm 1½” Flexible Waste Fitting Universal x Plain Spigot
McAlpine FLEXCON6 is a 40mm / 1½” flexible waste fitting with a universal outlet connection at one end and a PVC plain spigot at the other. It is designed for sink, bath, utility and appliance waste pipework where a rigid waste fitting cannot easily line up.
McAlpine FLEXCON6 Trade Overview
The McAlpine FLEXCON6 is a compact flexible waste fitting for plumbers, kitchen fitters, bathroom fitters and maintenance teams working on 40mm waste pipework. It is useful where the trap and waste pipe are slightly misaligned, restricted by space or difficult to connect with standard rigid fittings.
The flexible body allows the fitting to form an angle or offset between the waste outlet and pipework. This makes it a useful problem-solver for repair work, refurbishment jobs and awkward waste runs below sinks, baths, utility sinks and appliance waste pipework.
The FLEXCON6 has a universal outlet connection on one end and a PVC plain spigot on the other. The plain spigot can be used with compatible solvent weld waste pipe systems where suitable, while the universal connection helps connect to compatible trap or waste fittings.

FLEXCON6 vs FLEXCON2
The McAlpine FLEXCON6 and FLEXCON2 are both 40mm / 1½” flexible connectors with a universal connection and plain spigot. The main difference is the fitting style and length. FLEXCON6 is the shorter flexible fitting, with an approximate adjustable length of 165mm to 250mm. FLEXCON2 is the longer flexible connector version.
Use FLEXCON6 where a compact flexible fitting is needed for a shorter offset. Use FLEXCON2 where a longer flexible connector is required.
Installation Notes
Before fitting, check that the trap, waste outlet and waste pipework are suitable for a 40mm / 1½” connection. Dry fit the FLEXCON6 first to check the required angle, offset and working length.
Make sure both ends are fully seated into the compatible connections before tightening or solvent welding. Avoid over-stretching or twisting the flexible body, and make sure the waste pipe run still has a suitable fall for drainage.
If solvent welding the plain spigot, use a suitable solvent weld cement for the pipe system and follow the adhesive manufacturer’s curing instructions before testing.
After installation, run water through the waste pipework and check all joints for leaks.
The McAlpine FLEXCON6 is a flexible waste fitting, not a complete trap. For full waste pipe setups, use it with suitable McAlpine traps and compatible waste fittings.
