McAlpine SC10 is a 40mm / 1½” tubular swivel P trap for sink, basin, urinal and general waste pipe installations. It is a practical choice for domestic plumbing repairs, maintenance work, replacement jobs and trade installations where a reliable 40mm P trap is required.
McAlpine SC10 Trade Overview
The McAlpine SC10 tubular swivel P trap is designed for 40mm waste pipework. The P trap body provides a horizontal outlet connection, making it suitable for waste layouts where the pipe exits through the wall or runs horizontally from the fitting.
The swivel design helps installers line the outlet up with existing waste pipework. This is useful on replacement work, repair jobs and refurbishment projects where the existing pipe position may not be perfectly aligned.
This trap has a 75mm water seal to help prevent drain odours from coming back through the waste system. It is made from white polypropylene and TPE, giving a durable and lightweight fitting for everyday plumbing use.
The SC10 uses a 1½” Multifit compression outlet. This is designed to suit common waste pipe materials including plastic, copper and lead pipe, giving installers more flexibility when connecting into new or existing waste runs.

Installation Notes

Rotate the swivel body to line up with the waste pipe, then tighten the compression nuts securely by hand.
After fitting, run water through the waste and check all joints for leaks. The McAlpine SC10 is the standard inlet 40mm tubular swivel P trap. If height adjustment is required, use the adjustable inlet version instead.
