McAlpine C10V 40mm 1½” Anti-Syphon Bottle Trap
McAlpine C10V is a 40mm / 1½” anti-syphon bottle trap for sink, urinal and general waste pipe installations. It is designed for jobs where a standard 40mm bottle trap is needed, but where gurgling, negative pressure or trap seal loss may be a concern.
McAlpine C10V Trade Overview
The McAlpine C10V is a white polypropylene bottle trap with a built-in anti-syphon valve. This valve helps neutralise negative syphonic pressure in the waste system, helping reduce gurgling noises and helping protect the water seal inside the trap.
This makes the C10V a useful option for plumbers, kitchen fitters, bathroom fitters and maintenance teams working on 40mm sink or urinal waste pipework. It is suitable for domestic repair work, replacement jobs, maintenance call-outs and new installations where an anti-syphon trap is preferred.
The trap has a 75mm water seal to help stop drain odours from coming back through the waste pipework. It also uses a 1½” Multifit compression outlet, which is suitable for common waste pipe materials including plastic, copper and lead pipe.

Why Choose an Anti-Syphon Bottle Trap?
An anti-syphon bottle trap is useful when negative pressure in the waste pipework can pull on the trap seal. When this happens, the waste can gurgle or lose part of its water seal. The anti-syphon valve on the McAlpine C10V helps control this issue and supports a more reliable waste connection.
This makes the C10V a good choice for problem sink wastes, urinal wastes and replacement work where the customer has reported noise from the waste pipework. It gives installers a simple upgrade over a standard bottle trap while keeping the same familiar 40mm / 1½” waste size.
Installation Notes
Before fitting, check that the waste outlet and waste pipe are suitable for a 40mm / 1½” trap. Cut the waste pipe cleanly and make sure it is fully seated inside the Multifit compression outlet. Tighten the compression nuts securely by hand, then run water through the waste and check all joints for leaks.
The McAlpine C10V has a fixed inlet. If height adjustment is needed, use the adjustable inlet anti-syphon version instead.
