McAlpine C10R 40mm 1½” Resealing Bottle Trap
McAlpine C10R is a 40mm / 1½” resealing bottle trap for sink, urinal and general waste pipe installations. It is designed for jobs where a standard 40mm bottle trap is required, but where extra protection against syphonic conditions is useful.
McAlpine C10R Trade Overview
The McAlpine C10R is a white polypropylene resealing bottle trap with a 75mm water seal. The resealing action helps retain an adequate water seal under syphonic conditions, reducing the risk of drain odours coming back through the waste pipework.
This makes the C10R a useful option for plumbers, kitchen fitters, bathroom fitters and maintenance teams working on 40mm waste installations. It is suitable for new installations, replacement jobs, repair work and problem waste runs where a standard bottle trap may not be the best option.
The trap uses a 1½” Multifit compression outlet. This connection is suitable for common waste pipe materials including plastic, copper and lead pipe, giving installers more flexibility when connecting into existing waste pipework.

Why Choose a Resealing Bottle Trap?

Installation Notes
Before fitting, check that the waste outlet and waste pipe are suitable for a 40mm / 1½” trap. Cut the waste pipe cleanly and make sure it is fully seated inside the Multifit compression outlet. Tighten the compression nuts securely by hand, then run water through the waste and check all joints for leaks.
The McAlpine C10R has a fixed inlet. If height adjustment is needed, use the adjustable inlet resealing version instead.
