Description

The 160mm unequal tee branch 90° triple socket is an underground drainage fitting used to connect a 110mm branch pipe into a larger 160mm drainage run. It is suitable for foul water and surface water drainage systems where a smaller pipe needs to join a 160mm main at a right angle.

This Pipelife underground drainage branch has three socketed connections. The main run is designed for 160mm pipework, while the branch connection accepts compatible 110mm underground drainage pipe. This makes it useful for drainage alterations, new installations, commercial drainage layouts and larger domestic systems.

The triple socket design helps make installation straightforward because all three connections are socketed. It can be used with compatible 160mm and 110mm PVC-U underground drainage pipework as part of a below-ground gravity drainage system.

160mm Unequal Tee Branch for Underground Drainage

The 160mm unequal tee branch is used where a 110mm underground drainage pipe needs to connect into a 160mm pipe run. This is common where smaller branch lines feed into a larger drainage main.

Because the fitting has an unequal branch, it allows two pipe sizes to be connected without needing a separate reducer at the branch point. This helps keep the drainage layout cleaner and reduces the number of fittings required on site.

  • 160mm to 110mm underground drainage unequal tee branch
  • 90° right-angle branch connection
  • Triple socket design for push-fit pipe connections
  • Connects 110mm branch pipe into a 160mm drainage run
  • Suitable for foul water and surface water drainage systems
  • PVC-U underground drainage fitting
  • Terracotta colour to match standard underground drainage systems
  • Useful for larger domestic, commercial and groundwork drainage layouts

Triple Socket Branch Connection

This fitting has three socketed ends, which makes it easier to connect compatible pipework from each direction. The 160mm sockets form the main line connection, while the 110mm socket forms the branch connection.

Before installation, check the drainage layout, flow direction and pipe sizes. Make sure the 110mm branch enters the 160mm main in the correct position for the system design. The fitting should not be forced into poor alignment.

Use suitable pipe lubricant on ring seal joints where required. Also, make sure pipe ends are clean before jointing. If pipework is cut to length, make a clean square cut and chamfer the edge before fitting.

160mm Unequal Tee Branch Installation Use

The 160mm unequal tee branch should be installed as part of a properly planned underground drainage system. It is useful where a 110mm pipe from a smaller drainage run, gully line or branch connection needs to enter a 160mm main drainage pipe.

Correct bedding and backfill are important around the branch. The pipework and fitting should be evenly supported so the drainage system remains stable after installation. Poor support can place stress on the sockets and may affect long-term performance.

Because this is a 90° branch fitting, the layout should include suitable access for future rodding, inspection or maintenance where required. Always follow the site specification, current UK drainage guidance and manufacturer instructions.

160mm to 110mm Drainage Branch for Site Work

The 160mm unequal tee branch is a practical fitting for builders, groundworkers, landscapers and drainage installers working with mixed 160mm and 110mm underground drainage pipework. It can be used on new drainage runs, system extensions, repairs and alterations.

For best results, use compatible pipe and fittings from the same system where possible. This helps keep jointing simple and supports a clean, consistent installation.

This fitting is not an access fitting. If inspection or rodding access is needed at this point in the drainage layout, use a suitable access branch, inspection chamber or rodding point as required.
