Description
The 160mm slip joiner double socket is an underground drainage fitting used to join, repair or reposition 160mm pipework. It is suitable for foul water and surface water drainage systems where a standard stopped coupler would not give enough movement during installation.
This Funke underground drainage slip joiner is designed for compatible 160mm PVC-U underground drainage pipework. The double socket design allows pipe to enter from both sides, while the slip-style format helps with pipe repairs, cut-in work and site alterations.
A slip joiner is especially useful when replacing a damaged section of underground drainage pipe. It allows the fitting to slide further onto one pipe end before being moved back into position over the joint.
160mm Slip Joiner for Underground Drainage
The 160mm slip joiner is used where two lengths of 160mm underground drainage pipe need to be connected without a fixed centre stop inside the fitting. This makes it useful for repair work, pipe replacements and adjustments to existing drainage runs.
It is a practical fitting for builders, groundworkers, landscapers and drainage installers working on 160mm foul water or surface water systems.

160mm Slip Joiner Double Socket Connection
This 160mm slip joiner has socketed connections at both ends. Because it is a coupler without stop, it can slide along compatible 160mm pipework more easily than a standard stopped coupler.
Before fitting, check that the pipe ends are clean, square and correctly aligned. If pipework has been cut, chamfer the cut edges before installation. This helps protect the seals and makes the joint easier to assemble.
Use suitable pipe lubricant on ring seal joints where required. Do not force the fitting into poor alignment, as this may place stress on the joint and affect long-term performance.
160mm Slip Joiner Installation Use
The 160mm slip joiner is commonly used when repairing a damaged pipe section. It can also be useful where pipework needs to be repositioned during installation or where a standard coupler with an internal stop is not suitable.
Correct bedding and backfill are important around the joint. The pipe and fitting should be evenly supported so the drainage system remains stable after installation.
Always confirm the finished pipe position, fall direction and access requirements before backfilling. Follow the site specification, current UK drainage guidance and manufacturer instructions.
Slip Coupler for Site Drainage Repairs
This fitting is a useful repair item for underground drainage work. It can help connect replacement pipe sections where there is limited movement in the existing pipe run.
For best results, use compatible pipe and fittings from the same underground drainage system where possible. This helps keep jointing simple and supports a clean, consistent installation.
This product is not an access fitting. If rodding or inspection access is required nearby, use a suitable access pipe, inspection chamber or rodding point as required by the drainage layout.
