Description

The Thor 410 Glazing Mallet Soft Face Hammer is a professional soft face hammer for glazing, window fitting, assembly and general non-marking striking work. It is commonly used by window fitters, glaziers, installers and trade users who need controlled impact without using a standard steel hammer.

This Thor 410 hammer has 32mm / 1¼” replaceable plastic screw-in faces. The faces are designed to wear during use and can be replaced by hand, helping extend the working life of the hammer.

The soft face design helps reduce marking and damage when working around glazing beads, frames, trims, fittings and other finished surfaces. It is also useful for light and heavy assembly work, including double glazing, furniture, shopfitting, partitioning and maintenance tasks.

This Glazing Mallet is a practical tool for window and door installation, glass unit fitting, bead adjustment and general trade assembly work. Replacement Thor 410 faces are available separately, including standard orange, soft grey and extra hard yellow options.

How to Use a Glazing Mallet

Use the mallet for controlled tapping and adjustment work where a softer striking face is needed. Strike steadily and avoid excessive force around glass, beads, trims and finished surfaces.

Check the hammer faces before use. Replace worn or damaged faces to keep the hammer working correctly and reduce the risk of marking the workpiece.

Use the correct face hardness for the task. Standard orange faces suit general use, while alternative Thor 410 faces are available for softer or harder striking applications.
