Soudal Roof Gutter Sealant is a bitumen-based roof repair sealant for roofing and guttering repairs. It gives a weatherproof, plasto-elastic seal and adheres well to many common roofing materials. It is a strong choice for trade and domestic repair work where a fast, reliable external seal is needed. Soudal describes it as a one-component ready-to-use joint sealant based on bitumen, while the UK trade page describes it as a rubberised, oil-based sealant.

Key Features
This sealant adheres very well to bituminous substrates and also bonds well to asphalt, bitumen, felt, metals, and wood. It is easy to apply and is designed for exterior repair work. As a result, it works well for patch repairs and sealing jobs around rooflines and guttering. Soudal’s technical data sheet also states it can handle joint movement up to 10%.
Applications
Use it for repairing leaks in gutters, drainpipes, and roof coverings. It is also suitable for sealing lap joints, flashings, ventilation ducts, chimney stacks, attic windows, and cornices. In addition, Soudal lists it as a cold adhesive for roofing types except EPDM foil, and says it can be used for emergency repairs even in rain.
Black Bitumen Finish
The black finish suits roof repairs where a dark bitumen seal is needed. It is ideal for use on black guttering, bituminous surfaces, felt, and roofing details where a matching repair product gives a neater result. Application Advice
Apply to sound, clean surfaces with a standard sealant gun. Tool the bead firmly into the joint or repair area for the best seal. Soudal’s current UK technical data sheet lists an application temperature of 1°C to 30°C, temperature resistance of -35°C to 80°C, density of 1.10 g/ml, and skin formation after around 20 minutes.
