The bird comb filler is used at the roof eaves to help prevent birds, large insects and vermin from entering the roof void beneath profiled roof tiles. It creates a flexible comb barrier while still allowing airflow at the eaves.

This 1m black bird comb filler is fitted above the fascia board and beneath the first row of roof tiles. The flexible teeth adjust to the shape of profiled tiles, helping close off open gaps where birds and pests could otherwise enter.
Made from polypropylene, the comb filler is lightweight, durable and easy to handle on site. It is a useful roofing accessory for new pitched roofs, re-roofing work and roofline repairs where the eaves detail needs a neat protective barrier.

Fitting Bird Comb Filler
Position the bird comb filler over the felt support tray or eaves tray above the fascia board. The comb should face outwards so the flexible teeth sit beneath the roof tile profile once the tiles are installed.
Secure the strip through the fixing holes using suitable corrosion-resistant clout nails. For a continuous run, butt or overlap the sections neatly along the eaves before laying the first course of tiles.
Bird Comb Filler for Profiled Tiles
This bird comb filler is most commonly used with profiled roof tiles where open gaps can appear between the tile underside and the roofline. The flexible comb teeth help fill these uneven gaps.
Before fitting, check the roof tile profile, fascia position, eaves tray and roof ventilation detail. This helps make sure the eaves protection system is installed correctly.
