Freefoam Vented Starter Cover Trim for Cladding
The Vented Starter Cover Trim provides ventilation and a neat finished edge around a Freefoam external cladding installation. Supplied in a 3m length, this two-part profile combines a ventilated fixing section with a colour-matched clip-on cover.
It can be used with Freefoam FC151 Standard Shiplap and FV100 Open V cladding. The ventilation openings help maintain airflow behind the boards, while the front cover conceals cut edges, expansion clearance and installation fixings.

Where to Use the Vented Starter Cover Trim
This profile is commonly fitted as a ventilated closer at the top of a cladding elevation. It creates a finished edge while maintaining the continuous airflow required behind the cladding system.
The trim may also be suitable for other starting or finishing positions where both ventilation and a covered board edge are required. The exact position will depend on the direction of the boards and the construction of the elevation.
How the Vented Starter Cover Trim Works
Secure the ventilated rear section to suitable supporting battens before installing the cladding boards. Position the cut board edges inside the trim and retain the expansion clearance specified by Freefoam.
After the boards have been installed, cut the colour-matched front cover to length and clip it into the base. This hides the cut edges and fixings without obstructing the ventilation path behind the cladding.

Vented Starter Cover Trim Colours
Select White, Black Ash, Anthracite Grey or Agate Grey. White has a smooth finish, while the three coloured options feature a woodgrain surface designed to coordinate with the corresponding Freefoam cladding boards and finishing trims.
Anthracite Grey is Freefoam’s nearest equivalent to RAL 7016. Agate Grey is the nearest equivalent to RAL 7038. Check a physical colour sample where an exact match is important.

Ordering the Correct Quantity
Each product contains one 3m trim. Measure the full length of every starting or closing edge where this profile will be installed. Allow additional material for cutting and installation waste.
Correct airflow is an essential part of an external cladding installation. Follow the current Freefoam fitting instructions and ensure the ventilation openings remain unobstructed.
