Description
McAlpine FLEXCON2 40mm 1½” Flexible Waste Connector
McAlpine FLEXCON2 is a 40mm / 1½” flexible waste connector designed for waste pipework where a rigid fitting cannot easily line up. It has a universal outlet connection at one end and a plain spigot at the other, making it useful for tight spaces, awkward angles and offset waste pipe connections.
McAlpine FLEXCON2 Trade Overview
The McAlpine FLEXCON2 is a practical flexible waste fitting for plumbers, kitchen fitters, bathroom fitters and maintenance teams working on sink, bath, utility and appliance waste pipework. It is useful where standard rigid waste fittings are difficult to fit because of pipe misalignment or limited space.
The flexible concertina-style body allows the connector to form different angles and offsets. This makes it suitable for repair work, refurbishment jobs and awkward waste pipe runs where existing pipework does not line up neatly with the trap or waste outlet.
The FLEXCON2 has a universal outlet connection and a plain spigot designed to suit Multifit and universal outlet trap or waste fittings. The maximum effective length is approximately 18″, giving useful adjustment on 40mm / 1½” waste pipework.

Why Choose a Flexible Waste Connector?
A flexible waste connector is useful when pipework does not line up neatly enough for a standard rigid fitting. It can help save time on repair jobs, especially where the existing waste route is already fixed in place.
The McAlpine FLEXCON2 is the 1½” / 40mm version, making it suitable for many sink, bath, utility and appliance waste pipe installations. For 32mm / 1¼” waste pipework, use the smaller FLEXCON1 version instead.
Installation Notes
Before fitting, check that the trap, outlet and waste pipework are suitable for a 40mm / 1½” connection. Dry fit the FLEXCON2 first to check the required angle, offset and length.
Make sure the plain spigot and universal connection are fully seated into the compatible trap or waste fitting. Avoid stretching or twisting the connector more than needed, and make sure the waste run still has a suitable fall for drainage.
McAlpine lists the plain spigot version as suitable for solvent welding, but some merchant listings advise not to solvent weld. Check the supplier packaging before solvent welding and use the correct waste system method for the installation.
After installation, run water through the waste pipework and check all joints for leaks.
