McAlpine WM15 is a 40mm / 1½” adjustable sink trap with a 135° swivel domestic appliance nozzle. It is designed for kitchen and utility sink waste installations where a washing machine or dishwasher discharge hose needs to connect into the sink trap.
McAlpine WM15 Trade Overview
The McAlpine WM15 is a practical appliance sink trap for plumbers, kitchen fitters and maintenance teams working on under-sink waste pipework. It combines an adjustable inlet tubular swivel P trap with a 135° swivel appliance nozzle, giving installers more flexibility when lining up the trap below the sink.
The 135° swivel nozzle provides a neat connection point for a domestic appliance discharge hose. This makes the trap suitable for washing machine or dishwasher waste connections in kitchens, utility rooms and replacement sink waste installations.
The adjustable inlet helps when existing pipework, sink waste outlets or cabinet layouts do not line up perfectly. This makes the WM15 a useful upgrade over fixed inlet appliance traps on repair, maintenance and refurbishment jobs.
The trap has a 75mm water seal to help prevent drain odours from coming back through the waste system. It also features a 1½” Multifit compression outlet, suitable for common waste pipe materials including plastic, copper and lead pipe.
A blank plug is supplied, allowing the trap to function as a normal sink trap until the appliance connection is required.

WM15 vs WM14
The McAlpine WM14 and WM15 both have a single 135° swivel appliance nozzle. The main difference is that the WM15 has an adjustable inlet, making it more flexible where the sink waste outlet and existing waste pipework do not line up neatly.
Use the WM15 where you need the extra height adjustment. Use WM14 where a standard fixed layout is suitable.
Installation Notes
Before fitting, check that the sink waste outlet and waste pipework are suitable for a 40mm / 1½” trap. Fit the trap below the sink waste, adjust the inlet to suit the waste outlet and connect the Multifit outlet to the waste pipe.
Connect the washing machine or dishwasher discharge hose securely to the 135° swivel appliance nozzle. Fit the supplied blank plug if the nozzle is not being used. After installation, run water through the sink and test the connected appliance discharge to check all compression joints and hose connections for leaks.
