McAlpine WM14 is a 40mm / 1½” sink trap with a single 135° swivel domestic appliance nozzle. It is designed for kitchen and utility sink waste installations where a washing machine or dishwasher discharge hose needs to connect into the sink trap.
McAlpine WM14 Trade Overview
The McAlpine WM14 is a practical appliance sink trap for plumbers, kitchen fitters and maintenance teams working on under-sink waste pipework. It combines a tubular swivel P trap with a 135° swivel appliance nozzle, giving a flexible connection point for appliance discharge hoses.
The 135° swivel nozzle helps with hose alignment inside kitchen cupboards and utility rooms, especially where space is tight or the appliance hose approaches the trap from an awkward angle.
The WM14 has a 75mm water seal to help prevent drain odours from coming back through the waste system. It also features a 1½” Multifit compression outlet, suitable for common waste pipe materials including plastic, copper and lead pipe.
A blanking plug is supplied, allowing the appliance nozzle to be sealed if it is not being used straight away.

Why Choose the McAlpine WM14?
The McAlpine WM14 is useful where one domestic appliance needs to discharge into the sink waste trap. The 135° swivel nozzle gives more fitting flexibility than a fixed nozzle and can help keep the appliance hose route neater below the sink.
For two appliance hoses, use a twin nozzle trap such as the McAlpine WM11. For a separate vertical appliance waste point, use a standpipe trap such as the McAlpine WM3.
Installation Notes
Before fitting, check that the sink waste outlet and waste pipework are suitable for a 40mm / 1½” trap. Fit the trap below the sink waste, connect the Multifit outlet to the waste pipe and position the 135° swivel nozzle to suit the appliance hose route.
Connect the washing machine or dishwasher discharge hose securely to the appliance nozzle. Fit the supplied blanking plug if the nozzle is not being used. After installation, run water through the sink and test the connected appliance discharge to check all compression joints and hose connections for leaks.
