Description
McAlpine T28M-NRV 40mm 1½” Multifit In-Line Non-Return Valve
McAlpine T28M-NRV is a 40mm / 1½” Multifit in-line non-return valve designed to help prevent backflow in waste pipework. It is suitable for domestic and commercial waste systems where a non-return valve is required and there is no better pipework alternative.
McAlpine T28M-NRV Trade Overview
The McAlpine T28M-NRV is a practical waste pipe valve for plumbers, maintenance teams and bathroom installers dealing with backflow issues on 40mm waste pipework. It is commonly used where waste water needs to flow in one direction only and where backflow protection is required in the waste run.
The in-line body is designed for horizontal installation and has a top access cap for cleaning and inspection. This makes it easier to maintain after fitting, especially where debris, soap residue or waste build-up may collect around the internal valve mechanism.
The 1½” Multifit connections are suitable for common waste pipe materials including plastic, copper and lead pipe. The compression-style connection makes it useful for both new installations and replacement work on existing 40mm waste systems.

Installation Notes
The McAlpine T28M-NRV should be installed horizontally and in the correct flow direction. Check the arrow on the valve body before fitting to make sure waste water flows the right way through the valve.
Cut the waste pipe cleanly and make sure each pipe end is fully seated into the Multifit compression connections before tightening. After installation, run water through the system and check all joints for leaks.
Non-return valves should remain accessible for future cleaning and maintenance. McAlpine states this type of valve should only be used where there is no alternative, so check the waste pipework layout before fitting.
